Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Detailer

Burkes Fabrication is seeking an experienced detailer/drafter to join our established and respected company. Burkes’ steel detailers work closely with team members and project management during the detailing process. Detailers are responsible for being one of the lead resources focused on understanding project design needs, developing construction models, and collaborating on problem solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate and timely detailed shop and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects utilizing Tekla Structures 3D detailing software.

• Work with in-house project development leaders to collaborate with fast-track construction clients to meet deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Tekla Structures

• 2+ Years of structural or custom fabrication steel detailing

• Deep understanding of building construction methods and practices

• Elevated levels of proficiency with AutoCAD or related drafting technology

• Understanding and experience with 3D Modeling and BIM concepts

• Proven capability to learn quickly and problem solve in multi-solution and ambiguous situations

• Strong internal and external communication and presentation skills

• History of positive job performance, attention to detail and results-oriented experience

• Initiative-taker, highly self-motivated

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite of products including MS Excel

• Degree in Drafting or related field preferred
